Exponential fertilization on red-seed tree (Ormosia hosiei) seedlings subjected to contrasting light conditions: Do we really need intensive nutrient loading?

چکیده
Exponential fertilization (EF) can feed seedlings with more nutrients than needed for growth and continuous lighting is expected to reduce the risk of loading at high application rate. In this study, red-seed tree (Ormosia hosiei Hemsley & E. H. Wilson) were raised by EF a low rate 160 mg nitrogen (N) plant-1 (conventional) (N-phosphorus [P]-potassium [K], 12-9-12) 600 N (intensive), which was adapted from previous studies large-pot-seedlings. Both fertilizer regimes nested either two light spectra high-pressure sodium (HPS) light-emitting diode (LED) sources three replicates each combined treatment. Seedlings subjected conventional regime in LED spectrum showed better greater biomass accumulation higher leaf P contents other ones. regime, also resulted photosynthesis shown pigments synthesis HPS spectrum. The strengthened intensive regime. antioxidative activity stimulated dose EF, hence excessive toxicity likely induced. We recommend using normal culture promote seedling quality without causing nutrient toxicity.

Hardening Fertilization and Nutrient Loading of Conifer Seedlings
Continuing to fertilize bareroot and container seedlings during the hardening process (from cessation of height growth until lifting) can improve seedling viability. The process of fertilizing during hardening has many names, but in the last decade a new term, nutrient loading, has come into use. The process of nutrient loading seedlings leads to luxury consumption indicated by foliar nitrogen ...
متن کاملvitamin and mineral supplements: do we really need them?
in the united states, 40 – 50% of the men and women 50 years of age or older regularly use multivitamin/mineral (mvm) supplements, making the annual sales of these supplements over $11 billion. however, the question remains whether using mvm supplements is beneficial to health. this article reviews the results of randomized studies of mvm supplements and individual vitamins/mineral supplements ...
